La Jomon exclusively specializes in Junmai sake, with a lineup that centers around our private brand and also includes hand selected sake from around Japan, carefully stored at an optimum refrigerated temperature.
La Jomon (Junmai Sake Specialty Shop) / 純米酒専門店 La Jomon
In April 2008, Seishuya Rokkonjo opened its doors as a small sake shop on the premises of the Hirashimizu-yaki Shichiemon pottery kiln property.
The proprietor, a sake brewer who wished to sell his sake directly to customers, operated the shop from spring to fall, while closing it in the winter to concentrate on sake brewing.
In April 2016, the shop reopened in its present location under the name La Jomon.
Its private label offerings are not limited to sake, but also include a wine made with the #6 strain of yeast used to make sake, in addition to a sweet specialty "kijoshu" sake to which this wine has been added during the brewing process.
The shop is located in the Hirashimizu district of Yamagata city, an area well-known for the seasonal beauty of its natural environment and the perfect place to enjoy a stroll.
Whether you are new to the world of sake or a seasoned aficionado, La Jomon looks forward to having the opportunity to serve you.
